Those graphics were made for a never released game. So they are on itch.io now! The pack includes a tileset for multiple biomes, backgrounds, a main character and some NPCs as well as one boss-char



Characters:

  • 7 NPCs (all got idle animations)
  • 1 Player: Idle, Roll (The robot is on a wheel), Stretch head, twinkle
  • 1 Boss  (3 frame idle helicopter animation)
  • crane character, death symbol, nudge robot (animated)

Tileset:

  • Huge Tileset
  • 6 biomes with different objects
  • Pipes, directional sprites, cave patterns included
  • Rocket launcher (static enemy for example)
  • Some extra sprites for a 7th or mixed biome

CC-BY 4 allow to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format even reselling....

Well it's kind of a "gray zone" but nope.
It states the distribution IN another medium, no on it's own. Also there is no other license on itch.io as far as I can understand the legal term that would allow to use materials inside a commercial project a.k.a. a game. Without restricting or even prevent the use of the assets.

CCBY4 is about "in ANY medium or format".

No, It was made as part of free culture with aim to allow people to share the work freely. License allow redistribution in any form even itself

  1. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Public License, the Licensor hereby grants You a worldwide, royalty-free, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive, irrevocable license to exercise the Licensed Rights in the Licensed Material to:
    1. reproduce and Share the Licensed Material, in whole or in part; and

  2. Exceptions and Limitations. For the avoidance of doubt, where Exceptions and Limitations apply to Your use, this Public License does not apply, and You do not need to comply with its terms and conditions.

Alright, then there is no license available on itch.io that guarantees people can use assets in their games without breaking a license? 
I updated the pages to all rights reserved. But put in a license. TXT that grants usage for commercial projects as long as conditions are applied.

I am not sure that understood you. CC-BY4 allow "any" usage of material commercial or not and allow redistribution in "any" form but requires proper credits...

What do you mean when you say "... games without breaking a license?"? I am not sure that I understand where "license breaking"...

  1. Your aim is too allow people use your asset in commercial projects? CC-BY4 allows it.
  2. Your aim is too allow people use your asset in commercial projects but prohibit reselling on it is own? You need custom license.

I am not absolutely sure that I understood you... All the CC licensesexcept those have "NC" part are allowed to use in commercial projects. All CC licenses allow redistribution but NC licenses prohibit reselling (commercial redistribution) but it also prohibits use in commercial game...

Yes, so all CC Licenses allow reselling. Except NC, which prohibits commercial use. So there is no license available that:1. prohibits reselling and 2. allow use in commercial projects at the same time.
so none of the available licenses on itch.io actually work for providing assets for a commercial game.

For the reselling there would be the share alike version with contribution.

BY-SA version differs from BY only by "copyleft" (requires to share derivatives under the same license)
